Of course, everybody knows Istanbul, divided by the Bosphorus strait, Istanbul is the largest city in the world located on two continents, But I bet you didn’t know the following ones. Suez is a seaport city in Egypt located on the border between Asia and Africa in this tiny strip of land connecting the two continents called The Isthmus of Suez. Moving back to the border between Europe and Asia we still have 3 transcontinental cities. First, there is Atyrau in Kazakhstan. The city is split by the Ural river which is considered to be part of the border between Europe and Asia. Sailing up the river and entering Russia we reach another city divided by the Ural River called Orenburg which is also considered a transcontinental city. The last city is located further north into Russia.
