It was produced in 1967 by the prolific filmmaker David Wolper. The movie summarizes Chinese history from late Qing, through the foundation of the Republic of China and the ensuing warlord era, strengthening of the Guomindang (KMT), to the beginning of suppression of the Communist party. 0:08-0:50 Chinese men performing taichi, followed by a mix of the footage of the Republic of China between 1911 and 1931, including Japanese-occupied China, the Kuomintang executing prisoners, guerrilla shootings, and a crowd of Chinese urbanites fleeing for safety to an international concession in one of the large cities or possibly in Hong Kong.
