Salt and Pepper Shakers- Throwing & Trimming an Enclosed Spherical Round Form on the Potter’s Wheel

This video is a demonstration with explanation of how to throw an enclosed form on the potter’s wheel. I show how to throw a form resembling a vase at first, then closing off the top to trap air and make the enclosed form. Then, I use a rib to shape into the desired form. Spherical enclosed shapes can be used to make a multitude of eventual forms. In this case, I am making spherical forms to be salt and pepper shakers. I have another video I will link demonstrating how to trim the holes in the bottoms for rubber stoppers. See here: Also, I have yet another video where I slip trail the finished shakers and tray. And in this video, I make the oval tray: Here are some links for products I use in this video: Sherrill Mudtools RED baby rib: =as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=karanspotsand-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&c
