Banchee - Banchee 1969 (USA, Heavy Psychedelic Rock) Full Album

A two-album rock band from Long Island, New Jersey. Banshee - a woman from Shea - is a figure of Irish folklore, a woman who, according to legend, appears near the house of a person doomed to death and, with her characteristic moans and sobs, notifies that the hour of his death is near. The enchanted forest from Arthurian legend was inhabited by lovely banshee fairies. One of them, called the “Hard-hearted Dame“, a sorceress-temptress described by the English romantic poet John Keats, was a banshee who lured mortal knights-errant, instilling in them reckless passion, and then left them, devoid of the will to live, to wander around. the hills “in sullen solitude and without meaning.“ Banchee’s self-titled debut album was recorded in 1969. The group, like the entire East Coast of the United States at that time, developed under the influence of a powerful wave of psychedelic rock that was covering not only the States but the whole world at that time. It was the psychedelic classics, in the style of The Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane, that had a decisive influence on the sound and manner of Banchee. There was also the influence of British beat groups of the first half of the 1960s. Therefore, clean and rhythmic (essentially beat-based) parts in Banchee’s songs alternate with long psychedelic cuts, signature polyphony and layering of sounds. Tracks: 01.
