A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Germany was stepping up efforts to provide Afghans with humanitarian visas in neighbouring countries, speaking at a news conference in Berlin on Wednesday. “We know this will be a very big task because there are a very large number of people who we would like to allow entry to Germany, that’s why we will need to build up additional capacities, not only for document checks or document issue, but also far many logistical questions, and we are working intensively on that,“ said Christofer Burger.
