Marc Martel and Jonathan Cilia Faro - Miserere

Watch more videos from Jonathan Cilia Faro: Watch more videos from Marc Martel: “Miserere” is the second video from our Forte EP. Being one of the biggest songs to come out of the world of pop-classical music, “Miserere” (Latin for “have mercy”), it’s hard to imagine a more perfect song for us, since “Miserere” was written as a duet by Italian pop legend Zucchero Fornaciari, who recorded it for his 1992 album of the same title, with guest vocalist Luciano Pavarotti. This song is often credited as aiding in launching the career of Andrea Bocelli, who sang on Zucchero’s original demo, and eventually recorded it for his own debut album, Il Mare Calmo della Sera, on which he sang the song by himself, switching between rock and operatic vocal styles. With artistic direction from Jeremy Ryan and Crystal Martel, we we knew we were in good hands to convey the message of this beautifully somber, yet hopeful song.
