Ukraine War News: October 8 Poltava Russian troops again launched missile attacks against Ukrainian targets. In the Poltava region, a parking lot of Su-27 fighters at a military airfield near Mirgorod was attacked. Nikolaev In Nikolaev, an AFU ammunition depot near the village of Zaychevskoe was attacked. A large fire broke out at the arrival site and local residents also reported sounds of a secondary detonation. Odessa Russian troops attacked military targets in the Odessa region with missiles. In Chernomorsk, the Chaika sanatorium and health complex, which served as a deployment point for the AFU, was attacked. Crimea The AFU twice attempted to attack the Dzhankoy railway station in northern Crimea. One missile was intercepted by air defense systems and the other fell nearby without causing damage. Belgorod The AFU again fired indiscriminately at Belgorod border settlements. In Urazovo, residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged. One person died. Starobelsk In Kupyansky, Russian troops continue to fight fiercely along the line of contact. The Ukrainian command is transferring additional forces to the front, fearing a possible advance against its defenses. Yuzhnodonetsk At Ugledarsky, the AFU attempted to attack north of Nikolskoye. Russian troops launched preemptive artillery strikes, after which AFU retreated to its original positions with losses. Yuzhnodonetsk At Vremyevsky, AFU units attempted to gain a foothold in the forest west of Urozhainy. The Russian military discovered the AFU assault group and dispersed it with artillery fire. Zaporozhye At Orekhovo, the battles on the Rabotino-Verbovoye line acquired a positional character. For the moment, the parties are regrouping for the resumption of hostilities in the area.
