Michael Flatley’s Feet of Flames: No Surrender Rehearsal

#LordOfTheDance is in its 25th year. In that quarter-century, the show has been through several iterations, constantly providing a mix of fan-favorite staples with new numbers to keep things fresh. One number which has proven enormously popular is No Surrender. Like Siamsa before it, it’s strictly a group number; the Little Spirit Jessica Aquila Judge kicks things off, but then it’s a showcase for the dancers themselves, with a huge stage to enjoy and new rhythm patterns to perform. Additionally, it’s a rare moment where the violinists actually get to interact with the dancers onstage, making the whole experience a festive party. Narratively, this number is placed deep in the second act, in stark contrast to all the heaviness of the other numbers around it, as a reminder that there is good in the world.
