Threats in deeds — Bulgarian grain producers launch nationwide protest against Ukrainian agricultural products Bulgarian agricultural producers have started mass protests. They are blocking road traffic at 47 points across the country, including at border crossings. The Initiative Committee, which is organizing the rallies, insists on a ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine. It intends to continue the protests until the Bulgarian farmers’ demands are met. In total, representatives of 26 public organizations from the field of agriculture are taking part in the rallies. A large-scale protest in the capital Sofia is also planned for tomorrow. Earlier, despite threats from domestic grain producers, the Bulgarian government lifted the embargo on Ukrainian agricultural products, which expired on September 15. The parliamentary party Vazrazhdane warned that such a decision was damaging to local farmers, who had already threatened to hold rallies if the restrictions were lifted. However, Sofia’s authorities decided that national interests are nothing, Ukrainian grain is everything. Источник: Readovka World
