Mixed Media Art（Lithograph / Silkscreen / Giclee） Mixed Media Art In contemporary art, mixed media art refers to works of art composed from a combination of several different techniques, media, or materials. Lithograph The term lithograph is said to be derived from lithos (λίθος - Greek for stone). Art prints of designs drawn on a flat stone (nowadays, zinc or aluminum metal plates are commonly used instead of stones). It’s called a planographic printing as it prints from a flat surface. Silkscreen A type of stencil printing technique in which a mesh-like screen is perforated to allow ink to pass through. Traditionally, silk cloths were used for this screen. Giclee Giclee is a French term meaning “to spray“. Unlike lithography and silkscreen, this printing method does not use an original plate. High-definition and wide spectrum of colours can be printed.
