MICHAEL ABENE is a renowned pianist, composer, and arranger/educator. He was the chief conductor of the WDR BIG BAND of Cologne, Germany from 2004-2014, during which period he also was a guest conductor of the Metropole Big Band. His arrangements are played worldwide, by big band (e.g. Maynard Ferguson) as well as symphonic orchestra.
