Black Imperial Blood / Grundhyrde (Australia/US) - Wallachian Windspirit / Odious Chasm of Scorn

A great allegiance between these two acts bearing the torch of ancient Black Metal pride. Two acts part of these last year’s semi-revival of the ancient finnish and french sound of bands such as Seigneur Voland, Kristallnacht, Werwolf’s projects and of course, in the vein of more recent acts like Sanguine Relic or Nécropole. Both these acts however do it remarkably well in their split. Black Imperial Blood has in this his 4th release, and definitely the most melodic and polish one all thone still cloaked in lo-fi obscurity. The ethereal keyboards, much reminiscent of countryman, The Seer’s works, adds an extra depth to the excellent melodies portrayed, and the balancing of the prideful outburst with more mid-paced, prideful stomps with a great sense of melancholy is done with perfection.
