The Valkyries - Remembering Merseybeat

I’ve posted this film as a tribute to Ian Hunter who has sadly passed away. During the six months or so that it took to make this documentary I got to know Ian quite well. He came over as a genuine guy, with a great sense of humour. He was also an accomplished musician. The phenomenon of Merseybeat was down to lads like Ian Hunter and groups like the Valkyries. Hundreds of groups in fact that never became household names through commercial success. Ian was still playing the music he loved right up until a couple of weeks before he died. He was lead guitar with Karl Terry and the Cruisers.
