Philip Lynott - King’s Call (1980) HQ Audio

“King’s Call“ is a track from Philip Lynott’s 1980 album Solo In Soho. I remember the day we received this album at the record store I was working at in 1980. We were all wondering what it would sound lead singer from Thin Lizzy’s first real solo effort! We were not disappointed with the sounds from within the grooves of this Thin Lizzy, but great nonetheless. Since I was a huge Dire Straits fan at the time, and still am, I was just blown away by Mark Knopfler’s work on this song. “King’s Call“ is a seriously awesome track. Phil’s lyrics recall the day that Elvis died with such emotion and power and Mark’s guitar work truly makes it a standout track.
