This is the Screen Test with J.K Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson during filming Spider-Man in 2001. His reason after auditioning the character, Sony hired him to play his role in the trilogy Before J.K. Simmons was cast, Some actors that were considered to play and audition the character of J. Jonah Jameson were R. Lee Ermey, Hugh Laurie, Harve Presnell, Dennis Farina, Michael Keaton (who later was cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Morbius), Fred Ward, and Bill Paxton.
