Baseball Belles (1929)

Filmed at Stamford Bridge, London. We see a women’s baseball team in training. The girls sit on the pitch and one of the girl holds onto her ankles then rolls around the pitch, rolling first onto her back then onto her legs. She then does a kind of back flip - very acrobatic. “And Ernest Truex thinks so, too!“ reads an intertitle. He has a go at the rolling technique - he fails. “These three athletic young Adam Sisters from the “Five O’Clock Girl“ have their own ideas on training.“ The Five O’Clock Girl presumably being the name of a stage show. One girl holds another’s legs in a “wheelbarrow“ - another girl sits on the wheelbarrow’s legs as she crawls along. The girls throw each other around a bit on the pitch. One girl picks up another two and spins them around (pretty strong).
