This is from the “Joe Jackson Live 1980/1986“ release that covered 4 tours —Not in a writing mood at this particular moment —Or, at least, not in a proper mood to write something appropriately expressive in correlation with an artist of Joe Jackson’s stature —I do adore Joe, though —As a composer, musician, and author, he continues to surprise me in the best way possible. I could’ve chosen any number of tunes —I just had those horns in my head in the intro to Sunday Papers —By the by, this was recorded on the Melbourne, Australia leg of the Body & Soul tour, July 24, 1984 —Line-up for the tour was as follows: Joe Jackson (vocals, alto sax, piano) Graham Maby (bass, vocals, tambourine) Ed Roynesdal (keyboards, violin) Vinnie Zummo (guitar, accordion, synth, organ) Tony Aiello (sax, piccolo, vocals) Michael Morreale (trumpet, synth) Gary Burke (drums) on European leg of the tour: Elaine Caswell (vocals)
