An Old Sad Ghost - Onion Saga (full compilation album, 2023)

Welcome friends, to a new edition of Dungeon Synth Sunday. It is my great pleasure to begin today’s four-album excursion with the collected works of the Onion Knight, released together under the creator’s primary pseudonym, An Old Sad Ghost. I was a big fan of these whimsical fantasy synth demos when they appeared toward the end of 2022, illustrated with quaint figures. They were quite a constant fixture on my playlist for some time, until they mysteriously disappeared, giving me the side quest of discovering where they had gone, and eventually who was behind them – no less than this masterful Austrian composer, Lord Sargeburt. Now, the trilogy of demos – Brave Little Onions, Atlas The Backpack Birb, and Unbreakable Onion Will - are compiled into a single long-form saga of fantastical deeds and adventure as the Onion Saga tells the complete story of the small onion people and their hopeless fight against the relentless, demonic forestfolk of the Dorne.
