Full titles read: “IN THE VAN ! - On board the ’Flying Scotsman’, rushing north at a mile a minute, whilst the Radio Engineers are trying out two - way telephone conversation.“ M/S’s of a man in a carriage of the ’Flying Scotsman’ talking on the telephone in an attempt to communicate with the large aircraft which is attempting to find them. Very good C/U of the wheels and pistons of the large locomotive turning at speed as it speeds along the track. L/S of the plane in the sky. C/U off of the pilot of the plane and a man replying to the man in the steam train, he informs them that they will catch them up soon. Intertitle reads: “Miles away the mighty Imperial ’plane ’Heracles’ fourteen tons of flying machinery, with forty listening passengers is racing after the train.“ Several shots of the plane in flight. Good aerial shots of the ’Flying Scotsman’, one of the carriages has the name marked in white paint on it’s roof. L/S’s of the train and the plane making their way through the picturesque country
