Former President Donald Trump was injured in a shooting during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening. A gunman and at least one audience member are dead, with two other attendees critically injured. Trump stated on social media that he was hit by a bullet in the “upper part of my right ear“ and is now safe after being rushed off stage with blood on his face. The Secret Service confirmed Trump is “fine“ following the “heinous act.“ The shooter fired multiple shots from an elevated position outside the rally before being killed by agents. Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident as an attempted assassination. President Joe Biden condemned the violence and expressed gratitude for Trump’s safety.
