Aqua is a Danish-Norwegian eurodance group that achieved international success in the late 1990s. The group was formed in 1989 and originally consisted of members René Dif, Lene Nystrøm, Søren Rasted, and Claus Norreen. They gained popularity with their debut single “Roses Are Red“ in 1996, but it was their breakthrough hit “Barbie Girl“ in 1997 that propelled them to global fame. “Barbie Girl“ became a huge international hit, reaching the top of the charts in numerous countries and earning Aqua a reputation for their catchy pop sound and playful lyrics. The group’s debut album, “Aquarium,“ was also a commercial success, selling millions of copies worldwide. Following the success of their debut, Aqua released several more singles and albums, including “Doctor Jones,“ “Turn Back Time,“ and “Cartoon Heroes.“ However, they eventually disbanded in 2001 due to creative differences among the members. In 2008, Aqua reunited and began touring again. They released a new album, “Megalomania,“ in 2011. Since then, they have continued to perform live and release new music intermittently.
