This Is Michigan | Boosting Equality in Brewing

When U-M alum Pauline Knighton-Prueter realized how few women were represented in the brewing and spirits field, she started the advocacy group Fermenta with two experienced brewers at Short’s Brewing based in Bellaire, Michigan. The group is now 120 strong and supports women across the state of Michigan involved in fermented beverage and food industries through education, scholarships and monthly gatherings.
