La Salsa Cubana (full length film)

Documentary film about a dance group in Cuba. Step into a world filled with vibrant dancing, fascinating relationships, and fabulous music. This film takes a look into a dance scene in Havana rarely seen outside of Cuba and features a soundtrack with some of Cuba’s greatest musical legends. La Salsa Cubana is the first feature film to explore Cuba’s popular social dance known as casino or Cuban salsa since it appeared in Havana social clubs during the 1950s. Directed by Eric Joseph Johnson and Sarita Streng, with cinematography by Alvaro Rangel, La Salsa Cubana premiered at the Chicago Latino Film Festival in 2011, won audience award at the San Francisco Latino Film Festival, and was nominated for best documentary at Havana Film Festival New York.
