A tribute / A tribute to the US soldiers who died, and the news Three US troops were killed in a drone strike on a US base in Jordan have been named by the Pentagon. Sgt William Jerome Rivers, 46, Specialist Kennedy Sanders, 24, and Specialist Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, 23, died in the attack on Sunday that also injured dozens of people. It is understood to have been launched by an Iranian-backed militia mainly based in Iraq. All three troops who died were army reservists from the 926th Engineer Brigade, based in the US state of Georgia: Rivers was from Carrollton, Sanders was from Waycross, and Moffett was from Savannah. On Monday, Sanders’s father, Shawn, said: “She was speaking with her mom the day before. It wasn’t like they were at high alert or in a secure bunker.“ During their last phone conversation, Sanders told her mother that she wanted to take her military career to a new level when she returned home to Georgia and was considering buying a motorcycle.
