The Division Waffen SS “Das Reich“. 14 Panther Tanks VS 86 Russian Tanks. An Epic Tank Battle.

On September 12–13, 1943, on the well-fortified by the Germans outskirts of Kolomak, near Perekop, an unfairly forgotten tank battle was fought. In this battle, the Soviet 1st Mechanized Corps with T-34s confronted the SS Panzer-Grenadier Division “Das Reich“ with Panther tanks. The Soviet tank crews were trapped in a well-planned ambush by German troops, as well as in camouflaged minefields.
