Nicolas Tesla’s One-Way-Valve (Exciting Physical Phenomena) ∇ OpenFOAM®

A numerical investigation into the One-Way-Valve invented by Nikola Tesla was done and is shown in the video. A pressure gradient is applied at the inlet and outlet of the valve which acts as the source term for the fluid flow. Between 0 s and 4 s, the valve operates in the flow direction. After that, the opposite flow direction is applied. Based on the geometric design, it is much more burdensome for the flow to pass through the valve based on the geometric conditions. On the right-hand side, the pressure and flux graphs are presented. Hence the pressure gradient is similar, the flux passing through the device has to be different.
