Dave Brubeck: Strange Meadow Lark

Brett Mitchell performs ’Strange Meadow Lark’ from the Dave Brubeck Quartet’s iconic 1959 album, ’Time Out,’ to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Brubeck’s birth (Dec 6, 1920-Dec 5, 2012). ’Time Out’ was the first jazz album to sell a million copies; it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2009, and passed two million records sold in 2011. ’Strange Meadow Lark’ falls between two jazz giants on the first side of the album: ’Blue Rondo à la Turk’ and ’Take Five.’ If you like this, check out ’Brett Mitchell Plays Jazz,’ a playlist featuring arrangements by Bill Evans, George Shearing, Dave Brubeck, and Vince Guaraldi: FOLLOW ME: ► YouTube: ► Facebook: ► Twitter: ► Instagram:
