The King Visits British & Us Warships (1942)

Titles read: “THE KING VISITS BRITISH & US WARSHIPS“. Somewhere in British ’home waters’. King George VI arrives aboard HMS Duke of York, inspects members of the crew on the deck then leaves. MLS of his launch moving off. The King then arrives on HMS Norfolk and starts inspection. Admiral Stark, Commander of the United States Navy in Europe greets the King aboard an American warship now attached to the Home Fleet. The King shakes hands with several officers - one of them is probably Rear Admiral Giffen. The King makes an inspection. C/Us of several US sailors. M/S of one of the ship’s officers, Lieutenant Douglas Fairbanks Jnr (American film star!). The King leaves the ship by launch. On leaving he gets three cheers from the crew.
