Vintage Baking: WWII Ration Cake

I thought it was the perfect time to try out this WWII Ration cake recipe! This ration recipe doesn’t use any milk, eggs, or butter! Also known as a Crazy Cake, Wacky Cake, or Depression Cake. I had fun making this cake, and it actually tastes really good! Here’s the link I mentioned: Vintage Facade Instagram- Recipe I used: 3 cups flour 2 cups white sugar 10 TBSP unsweet cocoa 2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 2 tsp vanilla 2 TBSP vinegar 3/4 cup vegetable oil 2 cups cold water Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl, make 3 wells, pour one wet ingredient into each well and then pour the cold water over entire thing.
