Cleaning up the Surface of a Glazed Pottery Vase (#Shorts)

Cleaning the surface of vase before it’s ready for reduction firing up to 1290ºc in my gas kiln. Sometimes when glazing, achieving a perfectly even and smooth surface simply doesn’t happen. So, what I do is wait a few days until the glaze has dried out thoroughly and then I carefully fettle and smooth it over. It’s delicate work but it makes all the difference.
