Snowboard Cross World Championships Highlights

This is a highlight clip of the snowboard cross finals at the FIS Snowboard World Championships staged in Stoneham and Quebec City, Canada. On the women’s side, Maelle Ricker (CAN) took Gold ahead of Dominique Maltais (CAN) and Helene Olafsen (NOR). On the men’s side, Alex Pullin (AUS) grabbed his second Gold in a row (after 2011) edging off Markus Schairer (AUT) and Stian Sivertzen (NOR) to second and third. Snowboard is one of the six Olympic disciplines administered by FIS - The International Ski Federation. The Event consists of five different disciplines big air, half pipe, slope style, snowboard cross, and parallel slalom. Snowboarding is a young snow sport which began in the 1960’s. The 1960’s were a time of evolution, as young people looked for different forms of expression in winter sports.
