Iphigenie in Aulis; Moffo, Fischer-Dieskau, Schmidt, Spiess, Stewart, Weikl, Auger & Eichhorn; 1972

1972 Eurodisc recording of Cristoph Willibald Gluck’s “Iphigénie en Aulide“, but with the arrangement and German translation made by Richard Wagner in 1847. There are cuts, but I don’t have a score with me to point them, nor have I listened to another recording in full. For reference, an uncut 2013 recording with conductor Christoph Spering lasts 1 hour and 54 minutes. 00:00 Act 1 41:29 Act 2 01:16:58 Act 3 Iphigenie: Anna Moffo Agammenon: Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau Klytemnestra: Trudeliese Schmidt Achilles: Ludovic Spiess Kalchan: Thomas Stewart Arkas: Bernd Weikl Artemis: Arleen Auger Conductor: Kurt Eicchorn Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks Müncher Rundfunkorchester
