The Broad Majestic Shannon - The Four Fathers

The seventh video from our gig on October 31, 2020 — which was our only amplified gig in the whole of 2020, because of Covid restrictions — is of us playing ’The Broad Majestic Shannon’ by the Pogues, from their 1988 album ’If I Should Fall From Grace With God’, which was, like most of the Pogues’ great songs, written by lead singer Shane MacGowan. We’re continuing to release a video a week from the gig, to try to keep our music alive when we’re unable to make any studio recordings, or to play any gigs. Please subscribe to our YouTube channel to get the videos directly in your inbox when they’re released The gig was at Matchstick Piehouse, a community theatre and performance space in Deptford, and took place just days before the UK plunged back into lockdown. Thanks to our sound engineer, Leanne Bower, and to Jem Horstead for filming it.
