Sinking of the Moskva: Damage Assessment

Initial reports on the of the sinking of the Russian Slava-class cruiser Moskva lacked any objective data to ascertain the extent of damage that occurred, after a strike of the novel Ukrainian ASM system ’Neptune’. Luckily, a few days later, we now have photographic evidence of the damage sustained to the vessel. We have high confidence that these images show the stricken vessel within the first hours of the missile strike, shortly before her demise due to a lack of damage control, sinking in 100m of water, 100km south off the coast of Odessa.
