Water and Fire - Burning Ship Fractal Zoom (e1027) (4k 60fps)

A little more calm and meditative than some of our other zooms. I wanted to explore the tip of the Burning Ship Fractal, and this video is what I found. This region is much more sparse than other areas of the fractal. I ended up going reasonably deep, but the iteration count is quite low. The Burning Ship is non-analytic, and is not a continuous shape like the Mandelbrot, so the imagery is quite different. Please hit subscribe! The glowing effect is because the iteration count is changing so slowly, and the smooth colouring algorithm makes some nice glowing effects. On many frames the difference in iteration counts may be less than 10. The result is soft and almost blurry at times, but it is quite unique. I don’t know of anywhere in the Mandelbrot where the iteration count changes so slowly. You might have seen the colours before. I’ve recycled my oceans and fire pallets from previous videos, but merged them together. Thank-you to my supporters on Patreon. /*****
