The Bank of England’s new £5 note will be printed on polymer for the first time, making it cleaner, safer and stronger than paper notes. Polymer is a thin, flexible plastic which is longer lasting than paper and resistant to dirt and moisture. The new note will also have advanced security features which make it harder to counterfeit.
