Gene Ammons & Sonny Stitt - Together Again For The Last Time (1973) [Complete LP]
One Of Our Deleted Albums Series
Gene Ammons (1925-1974) and Sonny Stitt (1924-1982) were two of the leading tenor sax players of their day.
They were teamed up for several albums in the early 1960’s. In 1973 they were teamed up again for the recordings on this album, which were done at C.I. Studios in New York City on 20-21 November 1973 and 10 December 1973. These were the last recordings they made together before Gene Ammons’ death in 1974.
The album was released in 1976 on Prestige Records, catalogue number P-10100, but has been deleted from the Prestige Records catalogue for decades.
The audio here was taken from a 1970’s US pressing of the original Prestige Records vinyl LP.
