CargoSpeed

The CargoSpeed Road-Rail system is comprised of rail wellwagons equipped with moveable Wellfloors which rest securely in the wagon wells. The Wellfloors carry non-craneable standard semi-trailers atop. Between the rails in the interchange terminals ’Pop-Up Mechanisms’ (PUMs) are positioned. A train arriving at the terminal from either direction locates the wagons over the in-terminal PUMs within a train positional tolerance of 70 centimetres. The PUMs rise to engage the Wellfloors followed by elevation to pop-up and rotate the semi-trailers into precise alignment with waiting trucks and/or semi-trailers, which have been pre-positioned between kerbs on either side of the railtrack.
