Ski-Ing In England (1961)

Wembley Stadium, London. L/S of a huge ski-jump being built for an international ski-jumping display. Various shots of men working on the construction; hammering nails and running up the jump with lengths of wood. Other men are seen pulling large blocks of ice over to ’slinger’ machine that makes snow out of ice; various shots as chunks of ice are fed in and ’minced’; white ice powder comes out of a tube at the other end. L/S of the ski-jump as the workers lay straw over the centre of it as a lining for the straw. M/S and C/Us of a trio of Swiss horn-blowers, playing very long horns (natural sound) and wearing traditional Swiss costume; three other Swiss men in costume practise flag-throwing with Swiss flags. M/Ss on the ski-jump as ice is shovelled out of a large wheelbarrow and raked over the straw. M/S of the Swedish national flag flying. Various shots of men coming down over the ski-jump.
