A new heavy infantry fighting vehicle based on the T-72 tank was spotted in Nizhny Tagil
The video surfaced on social networks: an unknown car was filmed by locals near the UralVagonZavod buildings. It is made on the basis of the T-72 tank and looks a little like the BMO-T, but differs in the large dimensions of the landing compartment and the logistics equipment in the front part.
Russia has been trying to create a heavy infantry fighting vehicle since the 90s based on the T-55. An experienced BTR-T was even built, but did not go into production - it turned out to be too expensive and with a lot of shortcomings. Since the mid-2010s, the BMP-15 was created on the basis of the Armata tank. But its prospects, like those of the Armata tank, are still vague.
