Blood Eagle is out now on most streaming platforms! A ritualized method of execution and sacrifice to Odin, the Blood Eagle was explained in detail in late skaldic poetry. While its authenticity is debated even to this day, the horrific sacrifice of severing the rib cage in the back and displaying the lungs like an eagle’s wings was briefly seen in the TV series “Vikings“. With such a heathen display, I tried to create an atmosphere that consisted of gloom, rituals and blood... something ethereal, but dark and sinister at the same time.
