Under Blue Skies AKA Under Blue Sky (1960-1969)

Documentary made for the Nuffield Organisation. Photographed and Produced by Morris Motors Limited Cine Department. Laboratory Work by Denham Laboratories. Recording by Associated British Pathe Ltd. Date unknown - possibly 1960s. Film begins with scenic shots of snow capped mountains - a sombre and poetic voiceover accompanies the images. Travelogue style footage of Zurich, Switzerland. Narrator tells us that Switzerland is like a over-full jewel box - to find the jewels we must travel - in a Morris car of course (a Morris Oxford Saloon). There follows many shots of the Morris car travelling through Zurich passing various landmarks. Car travels through little hamlets and villages - all very picturesque. Holiday resorts featured include Zug, Luzern, various lakes, Kusnacht, Weggis, St Gotthard and Brunnen. Car travels along lakeside road. Car passes through tunnel cut out of rock - Axenstrasse. Onwards to Fluelen, Altdorf where William Tell and his son are honoured, Reuss Valley and Susten Pass.
