Firefly Alpha launch + explosion Sept 2, 2021

Lots of excitement at Vandenberg Space Force Base as Firefly Aerospace launched their first Alpha rocket. There was a 59 minute delay after the countdown was aborted a few seconds before the first launch attempt, then the second attempt worked and everything looked smooth until a couple minutes into the flight when the vehicle veered of course and had to be destroyed. To all the people I met at the viewing site on Marshallia Road - I’m so sorry that the app I was using to record the launch through my 15“ telescope decided to stop recording about 15 seconds after launch. It had also reverted to 720p rather than 4K so not only did it not capture the spectacular explosion (which I saw through the scope) but even if it had kept recording it would have given me low quality video. I am very disappointed and I will NEVER use that @*&~% Open Camera app again! At least my backup Canon 4K camcorder worked and I was able to put this video together 👍
