This video assumes four ideas that seem to be true, and underlie my 14 propositions.
● The Hebrew Bible and Canaanite texts share the name of the supreme God: ʾEl.
● The Canaanite ʾIl and the biblical ʾEl are the same supreme God.
● The name Yahweh was neither Canaanite nor Mesopotamian, originating with the Hebrews.
● Both Yahweh (יהוה) and Yeshuaʿ (ישוע, Jesus) assert their superiority over all gods other than ʾEl.
Origins of the three names
The name ʾEl derives from an archaic, Proto-Semitic, biliteral ʾl, meaning “god”.
