Kata - NICHO SAI - Matayoshi Kobudo

This is the first and most basic of the Sai kata in the Matayoshi system. This kata is the only kata to use only two Sai however there is still a throwing technique in the final part of the kata. The important combination which is the fountain of this kata is not only a fundamental hojo-undo but also through bunkai highlights the unique qualities of the sai as a short range but very brutal and punishing weapon encouraging students to adapt their distance and timing.
