The first sunflower farm babies are here!

Hi sunflower, farm friends! The first baby goats of the season arrived last night. Agnes popped out at 1:11 and at 1:20 her sister Annette arrived!  All without a peep from their mama Rosa! Just before they arrived, Rosa and I were enjoying the peace and quiet of the barn and heard an owl in the woods out back repeatedly calling — that combined with a full moon, made it a pretty magical welcome to the spring kidding season!  We hooked up a heat lamp for them since it was around 30 last night, and they are doing great eating and staying warm! In this video, they are just about 12 hours old and out for the first time with their mama to get their picture taken! They are learning how to talk to each other and how to recognize each other’s voice, so when they go into the larger pasture with all the other goats, they will know how to find their mom.
