The first beat em up game was the arcade game Kung-Fu Master from 1984 (which got a terrible ZX Spectrum port in 1986). In Fighting Warrior you have to go to the right all the time to get to the temple where Thaya is being kept, and in you quest you will meet a lot of highly detailed and well animated enemies – quite impressive for a 1985 game. You can go left/right, duck, jump and make low, middle and high attacks. When you walk you will see some magic objects that is left behind by other people who have travelled the same route. By smashing these it is random if you get extra energy, lose energy, kills your enemy, or a demon will appear to fight you. Nice graphics, but a very tough game, and controls are quite slow. But a good effort of making an early beat em up, and the programmers also found space in the 48k of RAM for a very nice ending for this game! The game was published by Melbourne House in 1985.
