Max & Harry Nesbitt (1930)

Titles read: ’Now PATHETONE has pleasure in introducing another celebrated Variety Turn - Max & Harry Nesbitt.’ Pathe Studio, London. Max and Harry Nesbitt sing ’My Baby’s Got Red Hair And Freckles’ - a lively number telling of their girlfriend. Harry (?) Nesbitt plays ukulele and ’scat’ sings in parts while Max sings the verse. They stop singing and Harry complains that his “baby keeps me up all night“. He then impersonates a baby crying. They then do a comic impression of ’two American boy scouts’. They put on floppy hats and pull faces. Harry plays ukulele while Max places drumstick against teeth and beats out a rhythm (sounds like sailor’s hornpipe). They perform various silly moves and contortions and make marching trumpet / drum noises with their mouths. They end by playing a comic version of ’The Stars & Stripes’. I love these two!
