In South Africa, the Johannesburg Metro Police Department has carried out the rescue of 27 illegal immigrants. Reportedly, 30 male immigrants who had entered the country unlawfully were victims of human trafficking and were being held at a clandestine residence in Edenvale.
Upon reaching the location, the police initiated interviews with the immigrants. During the process, a significant number of them attempted to flee the room where they were held.
Nevertheless, law enforcement officers successfully contained and apprehended 27 of the victims, who have subsequently been transferred to immigration officials. Plans are underway to deport these individuals back to Ethiopia in the near future.
