Led Zeppelin - Live in Chicago, IL (Jan. 20th, 1975) - Two Source Merge

As requested by TAFCIA and Michael Randle, here is the band’s first show of their three night run in Chicago at the beginning of the 1975 North American tour. This show is notable for containing the final recorded performance of When The Levee Breaks. This is my own two source merge that I put together, using Source 2 as a basis. Source 1 contains multiple cuts and has In My Time of Dying out of sequence, incorrectly has How Many More Times from the 21st, and has the intro and first half of Rock and Roll from the 21st. As such, I figured it would be easier just to use Source 2 as the main source. This source starts off quite muffled, but clears up nicely by the end of Over the Hills and Far Away. As for the performance, Plant is clearly suffering from the flu and Page is still recovering from his broken finger. It’s definitely not a top notch show, but for what it is, I think the band turn in a good performance considering the circumstances. Special thanks to: The taper for recording the show in first place. Kevin for lending his tapes out for repair and transfer. Jonohull for locating the tapes in the first place. Without his leg work this release never sees the light of day. Weedwacker for repairing and tape transfers.
